7. Round Lake Danger Level Advisory for Algae Bloom
Clark County Public Health has upgraded the warning for algae bloom in Round Lake. The increased advisory returns this lake to the Danger Level.
Their Public Beaches website advises the public to keep out of Round lake. Call your doctor or veterinarian if you or your animals have sudden or unexplained sickness or signs of poisoning.
Lacamas Lake remains at the Caution Level at this time.
I hope the city will be more proactive about water quality in the lakes. The algae warnings are more frequent. Restricting motorized watercraft should be considered to help preserve LaCamas Lake, which flows into Round lake, both of which have algae advisories currently. Reportedly there is a failed biofilter on the shores of LaCamas lake that has been neglected for years. The recently city spent about $71,000 on a detention pond near Parker Estates, yet has not adequately addressed the bio-filter near LaCamas Lake.
