WATCH Camas Forum Rules
1. No Spam / Advertising / Self-promotion in the forums
That means unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or other web sites, or posts with little, or completely unrelated content. Do not spam the forums with links to your site or product, or try to self-promote your website, business or forums etc.
2. Do not post “offensive” posts, links or images
We can have a discussion, but let's be good neighbors. No blatent defamation, harassment, or abuse. Nothing deemed generally obscene, racist or otherwise overly discriminatory is permitted on the forums. Use common sense while posting.
3. Do not cross post questions
Please refrain from posting the same question in several forums.
4. Remain respectful of other members at all times
All posts should be neighborly and courteous. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective. But please do not blatently attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle your neighbors.
5. No abusively "bumping" posts
A new post flows to the top of a feed, if you consistently post comments clearly intended to get your posts to the top of the page you will be contacted and can be banned if you refuse to stop.
6. Do not knowingly post copyright-infringing material
Providing or asking for information on how to illegally obtain copyrighted materials is forbidden.
7. No logical fallacies please
A logical fallacy is a flaw in reasoning. Logical fallacies are like tricks or illusions of thought, and they're often very sneakily used by dishonest folks to fool people and make them feel crazy. Common examples are: Straw Man, bandwagon, appeal to authority and gaslighting. See examples here: yourlogicalfallacyis.com
8. Please use your real name for your account.
We are real life neighbors in a real life town. This is the internet, but it's not THAT internet. We ask that you use your real name here (first and last). We feel that real names help improve the discourse and keeps posters accountable. If you have trouble changing that, please contact us for guidance.

Enforcement
You will never be banned without discussion. If you violate the rules stated above you will be warned if appropriate or immediately banned and contacted for a discussion. If we can clarify a misunderstanding, you will be reinstated.
Did anyone notice that Ernie DID NOT run a story on Paul Dennis and what he's accused of doing? Am I the only one who can't find that story on his website? Are they too close-friends? I know Ernie is friends with quite a few folks in Camas.
How much does he charge for a "news" story like that?
Another piece of hard hitting journalism from the city's preferred blog that calls itself a magazine.
This latest "news story" is just a hidden in plain site advertisement masquerading as commentary. It's placed on the same page as an actual law firm advertisement for the "feature" of this story. You'll see in the related stories below that this is at least the third featured story for a local Vancouver law firm. I guess Camas just demands coverage of certain local law firms and it has nothing to do with the fact that Deanna Rusch works there.
The formerly appointed Camas city council member who didn't win her last election works at this newsworthy firm. Rusch is obviously positioning herself to run again in next year's election. Rusch carried water for the pool and voted unanimously with the group at every opportunity. She's already started a slow march on social media after a long initial silence following her defeat.
Here's a bit from the FTC about the need to disclose sponsored content Ernie:
Brace yourselves for the next "breaking news" from this guy. Likely something about how Lacamas "Magazine" was voted Magazine of the decade by the Lacamas Magazine Journalistic Integrity Society. I imagine the award will be sponsored by the Camas City Council or Deanna Rusch's aforementioned employer.
You guys aren't even good at your ruse. No shame.
The WA state crack down on private construction while allowing public construction to proceed was unfair to private businesses. Oregon didn't halt private construction, and spring is construction season. Less draconian measures could have been taken. The WA governor's edict against private construction businesses has finally been lifted, and it seems good for cabinet makers, homebuilders, home buyers, and our economy. I'm also glad Watch Camas isn't beholden to advertisers. This article explains how private construction was halted in WA state, and wasn't halted in OR and CA. https://lynnwoodtimes.com/2020/04/22/wa-state-chose-to-exclude-residential-construction-from-the-essential-services-list/
My grandpa had a saying. He'd sit me on his knee and he'd say to me, "Phil, behind every Camas there's a good Ernie Geigenmiller" - We thought he was just talking funny, but it all makes sense now Pappy.
