The Clark County Board of Health met today, June 3 and discussed the COVID tracking and monitoring of residents who test positive for COVID19, and those who are in close contact to them. According to the county public health webpage, Close contacts are identified as a person who:
•was within 6 feet for more than 10 minutes, was near sick person’s coughs or sneezes. •Lives in the same house •Cared for the sick person. For details see https://www.clark.wa.gov/public-health/novel-coronavirus
Close contacts can be ordered to quarantine at home. Keeping a 6 ft distance from others when in public is still recommended practice, including in parks. In the discussion, the fact that broadcasts of protests involving thousands of people gathering closer than 6 ft apart for hours was raised. Clark County has re-applied for Phase 2 opening. Meanwhile, the county remains in Phase 1, and spiritual worship services, funerals, weddings etc are allowed if held outdoors with a maximum of 100 people following the safety guidelines.
