Cutting costs due to declining taxpayer revenue

I originally thought the "hold" placed on the $8 million roundabout was done for two reasons. One because of the Governor's "shelter in place" order; and two, because it was financially prudent to NOT spend taxpayer money.

I now question the second part of that assumption in light of the City Council agenda item to spend $17 million buying land on the Northshore of LaCamas Lake, as part of the Monday City Council Agenda. I would hope this article would give EVERY elected leader in the region pause before they spend any taxpayer money.

How much is the city of Vancouver cutting their spending? How much are Ridgefield, Battle Ground, and Washougal cutting their spending? How much more will Camas cut its spending?

Citizens are making difficult financial decisions, cutting spending and reducing their family budgets. Our government should be doing the same."
