Todd S, why do you say the Mayor is "always gone when important Public hearings are on the agenda?"? How many times has he been gone other than taking his family to Spain for vacation and had to come back early due to Covid-19?
All of your other points I get but calling out the Mayor incorrectly (in my opinion) isn't cool. I think you're taking issue a bit to the extreme. By the way, do you know why he was not present at this Council meeting?
Why is Mayor McDonnell always gone when important Public hearings are on the agenda? Maybe he won't be responsible when the all the Camas City tax payers are left on the hook to pay $10 of millions of dollars to pay for the North Shore build out and infrastructure. This is unacceptable, we all have road that have been patched for 20+ years, and the new developments are given way more priority. This is called taxation, without representation. The new Round about for 8+M will not work adequately without a widening of the bridge over the Lake and the build out of the North Shore Blvd. Something is just not adding up in the grand scheme of things. Anyone else left scratching their heads tonight?
Was it just me, but was anyone confused on the whole public hearing on the 6 year street plan tonight?? I was totally confused on what the City had to say and the Council? They couldn't explain how the items were prioritized on the list. They said, the items in the top 5 were there for a reason, but then said they could be re-prioritized if need be. The Everett street bridge over the Lake was not on the list, being the largest bottle-neck in the entire system for the North Side of the Lake, is that at the top of the list, or is it listed as #41 on the list? A couple of Councilor's asked this question, but where is this in the grand scheme of the whole system of capital programs? I heard that the cost estimates are just a loose estimates of all of the projects listed, most of the projects are just an estimate with no solid numbers or budgets. I'm totally confused what was actually stated tonight during the public hearing. I don't think they ever stated what was said, how the projects are prioritized, it's a moving target from 2012 numbers, and what's actually going to be done. Is this another way to deflect projects from the public eye, and do what they deem as the most important in the City's priorities without Public input? Why was the traffic light at Lake and Sierra listed as $350K estimate now, but was listed as $2.1M wrapped into the Aquatic Center package back in November, they never really answered that question directly. I'm so confused on what was presented to the Public citizens of Camas tonight?? Any one else. Who's actually going to pay for all of the Millions of infrastructure to build North Shore Blvd and the potential round abouts, while the rest of the City's streets are crumbling in the ground.
